Privacy Policy

This policy explains how Narc: Screen Time Controls and related services collect, use, share, and protect personal information.

Last updated: April 13, 2026

1. Scope

This Privacy Policy applies to the Narc mobile app, our website, and related services we operate in connection with Narc.

2. Information we collect

We collect information in a few different ways.

  • Account and profile information, such as your email address, sign-in provider, and display name.
  • App data you choose to create or share, such as Court setup, invite activity, unlock requests, schedule settings, and other configuration needed to operate the app.
  • Subscription and entitlement information, such as whether you have an active subscription. Payment processing is handled by Apple and we do not receive your full payment card details.
  • Device, diagnostic, and analytics information, such as app version, device model, operating system, timestamps, and usage events that help us understand product performance and improve the app.

3. Contacts and invite data

Narc may request access to your contacts if you choose to invite other people to your Court or send responder invites from the app.

We use contacts access so you can browse your contacts on your device and choose who you want to invite. We do not automatically upload your full address book to our servers.

If you choose to send an invite, we transmit only the selected phone number or phone numbers needed to create and deliver that invite. Those selected phone numbers may be sent to our servers and to our messaging provider so the invite can be delivered and duplicate invites can be prevented.

4. Screen Time and blocking data

If you grant Narc access to Apple Screen Time or Family Controls permissions, Narc can process app, website, and category selections you choose to manage, along with related lock, schedule, request, and usage-report information needed to operate blocking features and show progress inside the app.

Some of this information is processed on device through Apple system frameworks and app extensions. We may also store related settings, status, and derived product data in our backend when needed to support sync, Courts, requests, reports, and account features.

5. How we use information

We use information to operate, improve, and protect Narc.

  • Create and manage accounts
  • Provide blocking, request, Court, and reporting features
  • Deliver invites and prevent duplicate invite sends
  • Provide customer support and respond to messages
  • Measure performance, diagnose issues, and improve the app
  • Detect abuse, fraud, and security incidents
  • Comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms

6. How we share information

We do not sell personal information. We may share information in the following limited circumstances.

  • With service providers that help us run Narc, such as cloud infrastructure, authentication, analytics, subscription, and messaging providers.
  • With other users when the product requires it, such as Court membership, request flows, or invite flows you initiate.
  • With professional advisors, law enforcement, regulators, or other parties when disclosure is required by law or reasonably necessary to protect rights, safety, and security.
  • In connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, subject to applicable confidentiality and legal requirements.

7. Your choices

You can decide whether to grant certain permissions, including contacts and Screen Time permissions. You can also revoke those permissions later in iOS Settings.

If you do not grant contacts access, you can still use Narc without importing contacts. If you revoke Screen Time or Family Controls permissions, some core blocking features may no longer function as intended.

Depending on where you live, you may also have rights to request access to, correction of, or deletion of certain personal information. To make a request, contact us at hello@silt.earth.

8. Retention and security

We retain personal information for as long as reasonably needed to provide Narc, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. We use practical administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards, but no method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure.

9. Third-party services and platforms

Narc may rely on third-party services such as Apple, app stores, sign-in providers, analytics tools, subscription infrastructure, and messaging providers. Those services have their own privacy policies and terms.

10. Changes

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the effective date above and post the revised version on this page.
